For the last three days we have been cruising through Bai Tu Long Bay in Vietnam, and let me tell you, it was amazing! Our company (shoutout timo’s travels!) had a special permit that allowed us to sail through a certain section of the bay! A hidden gem compared to its bustling neighbor, Ha Long Bay. The whole experience was just magical.

One of the coolest parts was kayaking through the bay. We paddled around these huge limestone cliffs and the water and views were unforgettable. It was so peaceful—just us and the quiet splashes of our paddles.

After kayaking, we had this awesome barbecue lunch right on a quiet beach. Picture this: fresh seafood and vegetables grilling, toes in the sand, and nothing but the sound of waves and good company. It was a real treat.

The next day we hiked a cave and visited a traditional fishing village. It was fascinating to see how people live out there on the water, with their floating houses and colorful boats. Such an interesting glimpse into local life.

What really made Bai Tu Long special was how intimate it felt. Our cruise was small, so we got to chat with the crew and other travelers.

As the sun set, painting the sky in all these gorgeous colors, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the day we’d had.
