Our time in Ubud, Bali, was magical. You can’t come to Bali without visiting Ubud – said our taxi driver and he was so right. Nestled in the heart of the island, Ubud offered us a blend of natural beauty and cultural experiences. As said in the movie “eat pray and love”, you will find your center of yourself in Ubud, hence why it’s in the center of Bali.

One of the highlights was visiting the stunning Tirta Empul Temple. Known for its holy spring water, this ancient temple provided a serene and spiritual experience. We joined locals and visitors alike in the cleansing ritual, immersing ourselves in the sacred waters believed to purify both body and soul.

The Monkey Forest was another unforgettable adventure. As we wandered through this lush and green sanctuary, playful and curious monkeys interacted with us. The forest itself, with its ancient temples felt like a step back in time.

No trip to Ubud would be complete without exploring the breathtaking Tegallalang Rice Terraces. The beautiful green fields carved into the hillside showed the skill and dedication of local farmers. We enjoyed a leisure walk through the terraces, took a ride on the swing & the zip line, and stopped for a coconut to replenish ourselves!

Our cultural immersion continued with a hike to the summit of Mount Batur. An early morning trek rewarded us with a (slightly cloudy) sunrise view over the island. The climb was challenging, but witnessing the sun rise over the surrounding landscape made every step worthwhile. While we wish the sunrise was clear, there are no bad days in Bali!

Each of these experiences deepened our appreciation for Balinese culture and natural beauty. Ubud’s unique charm and rich heritage left us with memories we’ll cherish forever!
